FAQ's
IS THERE SOMEWHERE LOCAL TO EAT & DRINK?
2 pubs are within short walking distance - ‘the Hungry Ram’ a Gastro Pub (also dog-friendly), which is just a short walk from our gates. The ‘Penuwch Inn’ hosts regular open-mic nights, along with the Three Horseshoes, which is a short drive. A short jaunt down to the Edwardian seaside town of Aberaeron offers a full choice of bars & restaurants including fine dining. A particular mention for the local fish on offer in these establishments along with lots of great veggie and vegan options.
Are you dog-friendly?
We are proud to welcome dogs, and as dog owners ourselves it was one of our first points of inspiration for this business, to provide a luxury place to stay that is a friendly environment for dogs too. We know how difficult it can be to find a quality place to stay that also accepts dogs, we do not discriminate against breeds, and would only ever ask out of interest. We have plenty of space for them to run around in a secured, fenced field. Great for ball games before or after exploring the many country walks and dog-friendly beaches we have here.
What is there to see & do / What local attractions are there?
There is an abundance of interesting sights and attractions in the area, from breathtaking waterfalls to dolphin spotting! We have a page dedicated to this on our website here: pentref.co.uk/see-do and you can also hear about some more first-hand experiences on our blog page.
What cooking facilities are there?
Each glamping unit is fitted with a gas-safe double-hob burner, pots, pans, kettle, cutlery and everything you would need in a kitchen. Weather permitting, we also have bonfire kitchens to cook outside which are free to use.
Does the solar really provide enough power?
Each Glamping unit runs on renewable energy from the sun. The systems installed are designed to provide more than enough power for lighting and USB charging all year round, so please feel free to use as much as you need.
What Wildlife can we expect to see in the area?
There is zero light pollution here, this is one of just a few areas that have been given ‘Dark Sky Status’, which makes for an outstanding array of wildlife to be spotted. Prepare to be stunned by the low flying Red Kites, for which this area is famous. The reintroduction of Pine Martins also provides a more rarely spotted creature that is easier to find here, not to mention our resident owls, nuthatches, squirrels, otters and much more!
Are the glamping units heated?
Yes, we have wood-burning stoves, supplied with a full basket of logs, kindling and matches.
