“My daughter, a young woman with downs syndrome, and her support worker have just been staying in the yurt and thought it was wonderful. When I went to collect my daughter I was bowled over by how lovely it was, as indeed the whole site - truly special. Julia and Jon are lovely people who go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome.”

“Excellent all round. 5* would definitely recommend. Very friendly welcome (even on hand when I got slightly lost on the way) and was shown the facilities. Both hosts were very lovely and welcomed me and my dog onto the site. They are a VERY dog-friendly site. The site itself is excellent. My dog loved running around the grounds they had and explored the stream, grounds and little wood area. She was in her element. The hut itself was so comfortable. There was a gas burner which was easy to use to cook food and a cooler box was left by the hosts to store any food that needed cooling. There is also a toilet right by the hut which saved late-night walks to the main toilet and shower area. The shower facilities are also excellent and there is an outdoor area and bottles for you to collect water and transport to the accommodation. The site is also close to Aberaeron beach which was a lovely day out for me and my dog. Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone I know going to the area. Thank you for the relaxing stay we needed before the school term starts back up again.”

“AMAZING HOSTS! I cannot fault my stay at all! Both Julia and Jon were super welcoming and allowed me to check in 20mins earlier than the normal check-in time. Jon has put this carpentry hobby to use and built the Shepherds Hut and the communal hang-out areas! The location is so peaceful and rural with the Dark Sky status so if you are into space and stars, the perfect spot! The Shepherds hut was perfect for me (solo traveller) has everything I needed. It is only 20mins from the beach, 2hrs from Brecon Beacons and 1hr from the South part of Snowdonia National Park. Jon also recommended areas to see or things to do! I can't wait to come back! It was a home away from home. LOVE EVERY MINUTE so thank you x”

“The bed is very very comfortable and the views from the hut are beautiful. It is a quiet space, in nature but without being isolated, something great if travelling alone like me, who went with my two dogs. Inside the hut, you can cook your food and next to the hut there is a dry toilet, a little higher up there is a fenced space to eat and release the dogs, and they are building some toilets in this area. Very hot shower which is great. Julia and her partner love dogs and it's a good place to go with them. The place is close to nature reserves and beautiful beaches and towns. You can see dolphins and if you take a boat, penguins and seals. Definitely highly recommended.”

“Would absolutely recommend Julia’s place! Julia was very welcoming and helpful (even showing us how to kindle a fire in the hut). The hut was soooo cozy and the area is beautiful (think meadows, horses and hills). Tons of room to roam, great spot to bring a dog or two. The hut and facilities were super clean… would definitely stay here again.”

“Fantastic! My dog loved running all around. Bed was comfy and the shower in the inside house was brill! Hut was very clean and well presented. Julia the host was kind and always at hand. Remember to take nibbles as the local shops are quite a drive away! This stay is a perfect getaway for time to recharge if you like quiet and being undisturbed. We will return. Thank you”

“Julia and John are wonderful hosts, striving for perfection. They were very friendly and made us and our dogs extremely welcome. We had a lovely stay. The shepherd’s hut was very comfortable for its size. We were also very impressed by the facilities they have built, including the eco loo, fire pit and outdoor sitting room/bar area ‘Chicken Shack’. It was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We visited CAT, the local beaches and town before a lovely journey home through the Brecons.”

“We have had the most fantastic holiday. The Villager Yurt was amazing, could not fault it. The bed was so comfy and the yurt had everything you needed.
Always hot water in the shower and added bonus of the composting toilet, good for night trips 😉 as close to the accommodations. We lit the fire on our last night as it was raining outside, it was so cosy it was lovely. Even saw the hedgehog! Squirrels were running around and the chickens were very chatty lol.
The sky at night was just amazing. It was so lovely to see you both again Julia and Jon, it amazing place you have. Fantastic hosts. We look forward to coming back again for our next adventure !! Highly recommend staying here xx”

“We had a lovely couple of days staying in ‘Villager’ the yurt. The yurt was bigger than we expected, with plenty of room for us, plus a dog, to relax in and really cosy, comfortable and clean beds and bedding. It was so peaceful at night with only the sounds of the stream and wildlife. And the view of the stars was incredible.
The compost loo in the glamping field is great... the chicken shack is also a great additional seating area, with lots of games to use. Our labrador was in doggy heaven, with plenty of space to run in the paddocks and the stream.
We spent a fun day at New Quay beach, well worth a visit, especially if you have a dog.
Julia and Jon were really lovely, super friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Our only regret is not staying longer!”

“From start to finish a seamless and relaxing break. Julia gave us all the details of how to find the site, greeted us on arrival and gave us the tour. We were able to switch off and relax immediately, plenty of places to chill out, the hammocks were a favourite during the scorcher of a day! The site is nestled in the Welsh countryside, heard a few 'moos' from the neighbours! There are two enclosed areas that dogs can run around in without worry. Absolutely beautiful tent, amazing landscape and welcoming hosts. Would stay again in the future!”

"Lovely clean and cosy yurt with all you need. Julia and Jon were so friendly and helpful with recommendations of places to visit and just lovely to chat to! Location is great and only 20 minutes from the coast, with lots to do in the towns by the coast. A perfect getaway if you want to escape the craziness of the busy world. Would definitely recommend"

“Well, what can we say? What an absolute pleasure it was to stay at Pentref this week. Both Julia and Jon are superb hosts and made a massive fuss over our dog Rosie (who Julia has now affectionately nicknamed “Rosie Roo”). Genuinely think this is the most welcome any host has made us feel and made our first AirBnb experience an incredible one. Would recommend Pentref to anyone (especially those with a dog) because it really is the perfect place. Can’t wait to come back already!”

“What a gorgeous place to stay - it really felt like Jon & Julia had thought of everything. There was plenty of wood for the weekend, they lent us oil & teabags and provided us with delicious fresh eggs in the morning. There was even somewhere to hang our wetsuits up to dry! The hut is decorated beautifully and our dog (an elderly greyhound!) was welcomed with treats and fuss, and loved pottering around the field outside. She even staged a sit-in protest and didn't want to come home (we nearly did the same...!). It was exciting to see the things being added to the site as well - we'd love to come back sometime in future. Finally - the location is worth a mention, with the Aberaeron down the road with its lovely harbour restaurants & cafes, and New Quay nearby, it's a perfect location for a weekend away. Would recommend checking out Cwmtydu cove for a quiet, secluded beach day.”
